  • You are definitely a smart guy Richard.
  • Candace, if posting a few links on Facebook gets me this sort of treatment, I’m going to keep doing it!
  • There is a lot of great info in this post. I admit I have not had a chance to read through it all so forgive me if I’m asking a question you’ve already answered.

I am an avid user of LinkedIn.com. I strive to keep my profile up to date and I am always trying to connect to exceptional business professionals. I use LinkedIn only for business networking. I am not as interested in the social networking aspect of things. My thoughts of sites like MySpace and FaceBook have always been centered around a “where were you when I was in high school” kind of attitude. Now that I’m married and boring, my desire to find friends to hang out with or stay connected to old friends for the “social” connection hasn’t been as important.

Am I doing myself a disservice by not jumping on the FaceBook train? By creating one am I in any way devaluing professional network I’ve built on LinkedIn? Any thoughts on this would be great.

  • Dave, I use both and think there’s a place for both. Lots of my friends aren’t on LinkedIn and probably never will be. And lots of professionals are only on LinkedIn. I don’t think you need to jump on every social network, but these two seem strong.
